CODE OF CONDUCT
Sharpening Sessions are built on trust, respect, accountability, and honest peer engagement.
Participation in a Sharpening Session means agreeing to the standards below.
Standards
NON-NEGOTIABLES
- Respect the privacy of fellow members. Do not share another participant's personal stories or identifying details outside the session. Concerns about misconduct may be reported privately through S3's designated reporting channels.
- Respect is required at all times, even during disagreement.
- Accountability applies to everyone.
- No recording, screenshots, or redistribution of session content.
- No recruiting, soliciting, or personal agendas.
- No grandstanding, preaching, or performance-based participation.
Participation
EXPECTED CONDUCT
- Speak honestly from your own experience.
- Listen to understand, not simply to respond.
- Attentive listening is participation. Members may pass on a question and are never required to disclose personal experiences.
- Accept feedback without defensiveness.
- Contribute to the group.
- Honor commitments and show up prepared.
- Stay humble and engaged.
Clarity
WHAT THIS IS NOT
- Therapy.
- Crisis counseling.
- A platform for self-promotion.
Member Connect & Sessions
MEMBER SAFETY AND COMMUNICATION
- No harassment, threats, stalking, discrimination, sexually inappropriate conduct, repeated unwanted contact, impersonation, spam, or unsolicited solicitation.
- Do not share another member's personal information, private messages, or screenshots without permission.
- Do not record or photograph a Sharpening Session or distribute its Zoom link without authorization.
- Respect another member's block or request to end communication. Do not create or use another account to evade a block.
- Use the Block and Report controls when appropriate.
- Authorized S3 administrators may review reported communications and restrict, suspend, or terminate access for violations.
- Member Connect is not continuously monitored and is not an emergency service.
Enforcement
ACCOUNTABILITY
Standards are enforced to protect the integrity of the room.
Repeated or significant violations may result in removal from Sharpening Sessions.
The integrity of the group always comes first.
By reserving a seat in a Sharpening Session, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and contribute to an environment where veterans can sharpen and be sharpened.
